Today's Quick Question: What Foods Can I Feed My Dog To Heal Their Skin?

Skin conditions are one of the most common health problems our dogs suffer and if you have a dog that suffers from a weakness in this part of their body, it can be really distressing and frustrating. And while there is never just one answer to solve these conditions, the foods we feed our dogs are just as important as any medications or natural supplements. Can food be medicine?? of course. So in today’s quick question I want to share with you my top 5 foods that are essential to help skin heal, strengthen and rebalance.

1. Our first food today are vegetables that are high in something known as flavonoids. Flavonoids are naturally occurring compounds in vegetables and fruits that have a high antioxidant activity and can help reduce down the inflammation that is associated with skin conditions like dermatitis and other rashes. They do this by helping to neutralize toxins and allergens which can be the cause of this inflammation. There are 6 different flavonoids known as flavonols, flavan-3-ols, flavones, flavanones, isoflavones and anthocyanins. Foods to make sure you are including in your dogs diet in this group include kale, celery, broccoli, parsley, berries and lettuce and all of these foods are safe to add into your dogs diet on a regular basis. Rotating through some of these foods regularly will help aid in skin healing and rebalancing. Watch to learn more.....
